History of these Tv brands

Element

Element opened it plant in Winnsboro, South Carolina in 2012. and from 2015 onward they start making Ultra HD and smart TVs.Now they offer over 25 different models in the size range of 19″ to 65″ .

Haier

Haier Group, a Chinese company founded in Qingdao, China started as a small refrigerator factory and by 1984 they start making Haier Tv. In 1997 they expanded further by acquiring
Huangshan Electronics Group and and start offering a full line of color TVs.. The company currently offers consumers a variety of LED and HDTV/DVD combo television sets.

Hisense

Hisense is a Chinese company based in Qingdao China as a Radio Factory. Until 1979 Television production in China was very limited,but by the intervention of Ministry of Electronics in China Hisense start emerging as a major Television manufacturer initially known as Qingdao General Television Factory.

Hisense made Color televisions in the beginning by purchasing a production line from Matsushita, and later from Hitachi, Lucent, NEC, Sanyo, Toshiba, and Qualcomm.
In 2015, Hisense bought a Mexico facility from Sharp with the rights to use the Sharp brand on televisions sold in North and South America.

Insignia

Insignia television a Best Buy brand and is made by different Manufacturers for them. Best Buy has a contract with these manufacturers to make it for them and it is sold in their stores only and it is warranted by them.

JVC

JVC stands for Japan Victor company It was founded in 1927 and they are the first manufacturers of television sets in JapanThey also introduced video home system VHS video recorder to the world.

LG

LG corporation the one we know now came in existence with the merger of two big South Korean companies namely Lak Hui Chemical Industrial Corporation and Goldstar Co. Ltd to form Lucky-Goldstar (LG) in 1983. Goldstar was the first producer ofradio in South Korea,Why Lucky was famous for its toothpaste and detergent in South Korea.LG is also known for it’s tagline “Lifes’s Good”.In Korean market LG was the first one to produced television in 1966, though it was a smaller screen of size of only 19” but eventually LG became popular to bring the world first bigger size television sets like 55”,71”,84” and even 98”.LG is the leader of the production of OLED televisions and it has sold over 500 million sets since it’s inception in 1966 as aTV manufacturer.

Magnavox


Magnavox was initially an American company founded in United States and now it is a subsidiary of Dutch electronics company Phillips since 1974.

NEC


NEC is an abbreviation for Nippon Electric Company limited based in Japan. It was Japan first joint venture with foreign capital.NEC is a pioneer in making world first fax machine. NEC is also popular for making quality products and excellent customer service in Japan and across the globe.

Philips

Phillips well originally a father and son company founded in the late 1800s in Eindhoven,Netherlands.Initially they were manufacturing carbon film lamps and other electrical products. During the start of their manufacturing plant they had a very difficult time but late later with the joining of one more family member who had an engineering background and help the company in sales and implementing new ideas company start expanding. By early1900s the family decided to change the company name to Phillips Corporation and eventually it became a multinational company. Besides making the lightbulbs the company also start making vacuum tubes,Phillips electrical razors and radio sets. They also started a short wave radio station which was during the Worldwar taken over by Germans,and later nationalized by the government of Netherlands.During the invasion of Germans the family fled to US and made North America Phillips corporation in United States.Philips start selling television sets in 1949.They also introduce compact audio cassette tapes to the world and later introduced the first radio and Cassette player Combination and name it radio-recorder now known as boombox.Phillips also I has a lot of contributions to make the early VHS tapes and CD players with the collaboration of other manufacturing companies.

Polaroid

Polaroid was a British company started by Edwin Land in Cambridge Massachusetts. Initially the company made polarize sunglasses and goggles for dogs later they also help military to develop night vision glasses during world war 2 Edwin Land lead the company for four decades as its CEO.Polaroid got famous for inventing instant camera but it couldn’t survive later with the tough competition in the field.Around 2001 Polaroid was forced to file for bankruptcy and it gave licenses to the worldwide licenses for three years and they start making Polaroid digital cameras and LCDs and TVs.

Samsung

Samsung was Initially founded as a trading company in 1938 but later on it was diversified into many businesses like food processing,textile,insurance,securities and retail.However Samsung entered into electronics industry in late 60.Samsung formed several electronics related divisions, such as Samsung Electronics Devices, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, Samsung Corning and Samsung Semiconductor and Telecommunications.Their first electronic product was a black-and-white television.Samsung start making liquid crystals panels(LCD)and soon they become the largest global manufacture of LCD panels and stuck a deal to make Large screen LCD panels with Sony Tv.Sony later on sold all it’s share to Samsung.


Seiki

Seiki was founded by a Chinese corporation based in California in 2010,andThey are famous for making inexpensive HD TVs.This same Corporation hold the license to make Westinghouse TVs.

Sharp

Sharp started as a metal workshop in Tokyo Japan in 1912.They invented quite a few products at the workshop and one of that product was a pencil called Ever-Sharp, And hence their name evolved as sharp corporation.That business was destroyed in an earthquake and then the company has to move to a different city and start making the radio sets.The company made its first TV sets in 1953.Shop also got famous by making the worlds first calculator.Sharp invested heavily in LCD manufacturing plants but later on their market share start declining and then eventually they have to sell up their Mexico Tv plant to another TV manufacturer Hisense with the right to use Sharp name.

Sony

Sony started as an electronics shop in 1946 in Tokyo Japan.Their initial name was Tokyo Telecommunication engineering Corporation which was changed in 1958 to Sony.They made the first transistor radio in Japan and then they open their wing Sony Corporation of America and start selling pocket transistor radio in USA.Later on Sony started making television sets but were a bit pricey than the competition but the consumers still like it because of the quality of the products such as their Bravia brands.


Specter

Specter is also a California-based company and initially they were making LCD monitors but with their experience of making LCD monitors they later also start making LCD Tv which could be used both as a TV or monitor.They are famous for making LCD TVs at an affordable price.

TCL

TCL was formed in 1981 initially with the name TTK but later they had to change the name to TCL(Telephone Communication Limited) as it was a trademark issue with TDK(the cassette company)and telecommunication.In 2003 TCL join with a French manufacture to make television and DVD players.They marketed their product as TCL in Asia and as RCA in Europe and North America.Later Samsung electronics also outsource their LCD Tv models production to TCL.

Toshiba

Toshiba came into existence in 1939 by the merger ofShibaura Engineering Works and Tokyo Electric. In the beginning they start making heavy duty electrical machinery.Toshiba is credited to make many firsts for Japenese industry likeradar, the TAC digital computer, transistor television,microwave oven,color video phone,Japanese word processor, MRI system and many more.
As their demand of television market increases in North America Toshiba made a contract with Orion electric in early 2000 to manufacture and supply televisions set for North America market. That contract with Orion ended around 2008.During that period Toshiba also stop making the old technology televisions sets and start investing more in the flat panel displays.

Vizio


Vizio is the American best company in California founded in early 2000 with only three employees which turn into a force of about 400 employees by 2012.Vizio is known for its aggressive pricing and it does its all manufacturing in China and Mexico.


Westinghouse

Westinghouse Electronics LLC is a US company based in California and it sells LCD televisions under the license of Westinghouse Electric Corporation.
